What is a Teen CORE Member?

Core Leader Responsibilities

v    LOVE CHRIST and try to walk in Faith every day

v    Attend Mass (preferably LIFE TEEN) every Sunday

v    When attending a church function be sure to act as a ‘leader’ and respect those running the event and try to encourage other teens to participate

v    Attend LIFE NIGHTS every Sunday (participate in the small group as a leader of discussion)

v    When attending the retreats help the Retreat Team in small groups and with skits, P&W, Rosary, etc

v    When needed (and available) you will help with Generations of Faith programs

v    Don’t be ‘CLICKISH’…If you see someone by themselves or if you notice maybe you’ve been sitting with your ‘group’ of friends all night, break away and introduce yourself to new people

• TEEN CORE Participation Levels

o         Tier 1 is responsible for the retreats.  They can be involved in other aspects of LIFE TEEN, but their primary responsibility is the retreat planning and participation.  Tier 1 will plan the skits, the talks, and above all, plan the retreats.  There are usually two retreats planned per year, plus a senior send off.

o         Tier 2 is responsible for the Life Nights.  They will be working directly with the Adult CORE Members to plan and participate in the Life Nights.  They will help with the skits, the talks, and above all, plan the Life Night.  Each “CORE Team” is responsible for a different Life Night.  The CORE Team is made up of Adult CORE Members and Teen CORE Members.  There are usually two Life Nights assigned to each team per semester.

What can I do if I do not want to be a Teen CORE Member?

• LIFE TEEN Band

o         Play an instrument

o         Sing

• Ministers of Hospitality

• Eucharistic Ministers

o         Only Confirmed Juniors and Seniors

• Lector

• Help the CORE team with Life Nights

• Small Group Teen Leader
