The Perpetual Adoration program at St. Martha Church was begun in February 1994. The Adoration Chapel is located just to the left of the entrance to St. Martha church, within the peaceful setting of the small courtyard of benches and greenery

The schedule of adorers is staffed by the parishioners of our church who voluntarily schedule an hour of their week to be in the presence of Our Lord.

The guidelines for a program of this kind require the attendance of a minimum of two adorers on each hour. Under no circumstances should the Blessed Sacrament be left unattended at any time.

The structure of the program allows for flexibility for the adorers. Should there be a need for last-minute coverage or in cases of temporary need such as vacation, there is a substitute list of adorers who generously give their time on a short notice.

Due to the nature of our community, the roster of adorers is an ever-changing one as parishioners move or their personal schedules change. There is an ever-present need for both adorers and substitutes to fill in the gaps.

The program is overseen by a coordinator. The adorers should contact their division leader when they are unable to cover their scheduled hour.

Many visit our chapel unscheduled, of course, and many hours are reported by visitors, yet so many are still unaware of the blessing we have and the gift of being able to be with Our Lord at any time of the day or night. He only waits for us to come to be with Him a while ... to pray, to meditate, and to adore… to simply be in His Presence.
