Master Planning – Rick Frantz, Building Committee Chairman, April 5, 2005

Recently, our parish passed a milestone with the twenty-fifth anniversary of St. Martha Parish.  When the parish began, a ten year master plan was developed.  We have long needed an update.  Our parish community and the needs of our parishioners have changed substantially since our inception.  Like any successful journey embarked upon, if we do not know our direction, we may have difficulty accomplishing our goals, and our journey may not be as pleasant an experience as we had hoped for.  Master planning is primarily an architectural and financial tool used to establish a feasible and economic direction based on input from the pastor, staff, ministries, school operations, religious education, and parishioners.

As directed by Msgr. Borski, our parish building committee interviewed several architectural firms and selected Jackson & Ryan to perform the Master Planning project.  This is a long and thorough process that began last fall and will continue into June of this year.  The process has primarily included staff and group interviews, parishioner surveys, and conceptual site studies to establish needs and growth objectives.  Recently, results of our parish survey was presented after masses and also contained in our parish bulletin.  We will be holding a “town-hall” meeting with presentation and discussion of the results of the Master Planning process.  Thank you for your participation and input.  We will be keeping you updated, so look for upcoming announcements.   For questions please contact the Building Committee Chairman Rick Frantz at: 281-361-5482.

A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

Heavenly Father,

send your Holy Spirit upon us, your people.

Fill our mind and hearts with the fire of your love.

In the mystery of your divine plan,

give us vision to seek your truth,

and grant us the strength and courage to lovingly accept your  will.

Give us guidance in the decisions we must make,

so that in all we do,

we do it for the honor and glory of your name.

Grant that the work we do now in this world

will ensure the presence of your reign on earth,

until you come in glory.

Help us to see that what we must build

is not just brick and stone,

but love, compassion, and understanding among all people.

We are building your holy city.

In your love, hear our prayer for vision and guidance,

which we make in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son,

our Savior and Lord.

Amen.
